And why should anyone who wants to work for Suyati care?
Since we are in the business of cutting through the hype, this blog is going to explain in very simple terms what we mean by Dedicated Global Team and why you should be talking to our HR team if you are an experienced IT professional who loves technology.
Over the weekend we had a recruiting drive at our offices in Infopark, Kochi. We had over 140 IT professionals (75% of them with more than 3+ years of experience) walk in and express interest in working with Suyati. One of the candidates I spoke to – smart, experienced, and energetic – asked me about our company and our work culture. As I went through our company and its background, he asked how we were different from other companies that do software development and outsourcing for a living.

I plunged into the Dedicated Global Team (DGT) concept. I was barely into it when he interrupted me with the question – I understand your concept, but how does it apply to me?
That question caught me unawares. I rambled a bit on DGT, but did not have the right answer. As he left, I realized that we have been focusing too much on explaining this to clients, but had not put much effort into how an IT professional works, contributes, and grows through the DGT model.
Two brainstorming sessions later (one within and one without!) I have my answer.
Dedicated: dedicated [ˈdɛdɪˌkeɪtɪd] adj
1. devoted to a particular purpose or cause a dedicated man
2. assigned or allocated to a particular project, function, etc. a dedicated transmission line dedicated parking space
Global: global [ˈgləʊbəl] adj
1. covering, influencing, or relating to the whole world
2. comprehensive
Team: team [tiːm] n (sometimes functioning as plural)
1. a group of people organized to work together
2. (General Sporting Terms) a group of players forming one of the sides in a sporting contest
This means if you are working for a Dedicated Global Team, you work together towards a particular client’s cause and help create a comprehensive service that influences the client’s business objectives.
