Salesforce and IBM partner to leverage Artificial Intelligence

Salesforce and IBM announce a strategic global partnership aimed to jointly deliver Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions. This AI partnership is designed to influence the way companies make decisions smarter and quicker than ever before. IBM Watson, the AI platform introduced by IBM and Salesforce’s AI platform Einstein will seamlessly integrate to empower AI and take it to a new level across sales, marketing, service, commerce, and other customer engagement channels. In the long run, IBM will enable its clients to deploy the combination of Watson and Salesforce Einstein to make smart and informed business decisions.

Together, Watson and Einstein will bring new insights from the former directly into the latter. The deep customer insights provided by Salesforce Einstein will be combined with Watson’s enormous unstructured data spread across multiple industries and sources including retail, healthcare, finance etc. The global strategic partnership of IBM Watson and Salesforce Einstein will accelerate decision-making and drive customer success manifold.

What Salesforce and IBM will offer at the initial stage?

Integration of IBM Watson APIs into Salesforce Einstein will merge predictive insights from Watson’s unstructured data with predictive insights from customer data provided by Salesforce Einstein. This will support businesses to send highly personalized and localized email campaigns to the right target audience.

IBM’s Weather Company will leverage a new Lightning component on the Salesforce AppExchange that will support customers by providing weather insights, safety warnings, policies, and local weather forecasts so that customers can avoid the risk of getting impacted by adverse weather conditions. The IBM Application suite will be integrated with Salesforce that brings together on-premise enterprise and cloud data that will empower users to unify customer data from various sources and provide the best service to their clients.

As part of this partnership, the following implementations will be made available in the second half of 2017:

  • IBM Watson and Salesforce Einstein integration
  • IBM Weather Lightning Component on Salesforce AppExchange
  • New industry-focused accelerators from Bluewolf, an IBM company
  • IBM Application Integration Suite for Salesforce will be launched by end of March 2017
