What are the Benefits of IoT integration with enterprise apps?

Enterprise Application Integration

In the technology-driven world that we are in today, everything from customer relationships to business intelligence and supply chain is managed with complex software. With the Internet of Things (IoT) empowering users and leading the frontier in today’s digital revolution, organizations are consistently focusing their energies at increasing productivity through the deployment of new business models.

It is in this context that the importance of enterprise applications assume immense significance. These applications are required to work in tandem with each other to streamline business operations. Considering that big businesses need to navigate several data silos in the age of Big Data, the need to bridge the gap between different software systems becomes important.

For organizations to reap rich dividends through their software investments, integration is the key! Simply put, integration of enterprise apps enables data to flow smoothly from one program to another, and provide specific interfaces to manage the data flow.

Let us look at the benefits of integrating enterprise applications within the realm of IoT.

Improved data sharing and management

When enterprise applications are integrated well, it helps organizations to exploit full potential of their technological capabilities. By enhancing interoperability between various departments of a company, integration seeks to consolidate data and remove redundant information from multiple sources. This leads to improved and effective inter-department collaboration between people within an organization. Through integration of enterprise apps in mobile, organizations can create a single point of access to data.

Automation of workflows

Integration focuses primarily on the movement of data from application-to-application as part of a business process. By streamlining business processes that include data or activity from multiple software applications, integration serves to automate complex workflows. For instance, data from a CRM can be integrated with an e-mail marketing platform to deliver key messages to customers on the basis of parameters such as buying behavior or demographics.

Integration of enterprise applications can therefore club all the activities from multiple software applications, thereby reducing the cost and effort of performing multiple tasks at a time. On the whole, integration aims at enhancing business processes and increase efficiency of business workflows.

Increased agility as well as flexibility

In a dynamic environment, integrating all compatible enterprise apps allows the organizations to respond in a timely manner. When all enterprise technologies function and sync collectively, businesses tend to respond better to growth opportunities. Software integration allows businesses to easily expand IT facilities and respond to the growing customers’ expectations. Integration of enterprise applications also adds a sense of flexibility for businesses, within the context of IT infrastructure. This means that organizations can expand their IT facilities, on the basis of the growing demand.

Less dependency on IT expertise

To be able to work on multiple applications, proficiency in IT is a must. Add to that the rapidly growing changes within every technological domain. Adapting to change and learning the nuances of new technology is also a challenge looming large for non-IT personnel. Considering these factors, enterprise application integration offers more than a helping hand since it integrates all the systems into one single interface that is easy to use. This leaves hardcore IT teams to focus their skills on strategic initiatives that can add value to the organization by building innovative value-added solutions.

Real-time Visibility

When software systems are integrated, the problem of multiple overlapping databases is solved. This ensures clear visibility of business performance, well within time. Real-time reporting across multiple departments gives a holistic perspective into your business. When information can be accessed instantly from almost anywhere, without wasting resources on data extraction and tying data from different sources together, employees are better informed to make accurate, faster decisions.

This leads us to believe that integrated business software systems are the way forward since they are transforming how companies function in the competitive world today. Have you implemented this system in your organization yet?
